REPORTS TO: Local Sales Manager or other designated supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY:
Intermediate media sales position. Sell commercial time on local avails, local origination productions, and digital channels, as well as other new products as they are developed. Partner with Production and Client Services to achieve/exceed business initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Responsible for supporting and maintaining company initiatives and metrics as related to department performance and client satisfaction.
• Develop, sell, and maintain advertising client base driving advertising revenue.
• Responsible for achieving budget and growth expectations as determined annually.
• Interpret and understand media research as qualitative data demonstrating client advertising expenditure.
• Partner with Promotions Team to develop and implement creative and effective campaigns and promotions in order to simulate additional revenue opportunities.
• Per client, identify client short-term and long-term needs and establishes and develops business partnerships.
• Build rapport and trust with contacts, identifying opportunities, and acting with integrity and professionalism, promoting a positive image within the local business community.
• Foster a positive company image.
• Comply with all established policies and procedures.
• Other functions and focus that may be assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Sales and Marketing or equivalent experience.
• Two to five years media sales experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with computer software and technology.
• Good working knowledge of marketing research.
• Travel may be required.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to relate well with the general public and employees at all levels.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for the administration of Media Sales promotions. As an intricate partner of the sales team is responsible for driving incremental advertising revenue by creating, administering, implementing, and coordinating promotion and marketing initiatives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for driving incremental advertising revenue by creating, administering, implementing, and coordinating promotion and marketing initiatives.
• Must partner internally with Media Sales Managers by providing support and direction.
• Will develop and manage systems, goals and timelines and act as liaison between departments for the effectiveness of the promotions and marketing initiatives.
• Train sales teams and support staff on promotions practices and hold each individual accountable.
• Build strong relationships internally and externally to support the successful execution of promotional and marketing opportunities.
• Prepare various promotion and marketing resources including presentations, plans and collateral materials to assist sales staff in servicing their advertising clients.
• May partner and present promotional opportunities on client calls
• Monitor and track successes of programs and their value to the organization.
• Foster a positive company image.
• Comply with all established policies and procedures.
• Other functions and focus that may be assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
• Excellent communications skills; both in listening and speaking with the ability to write well, visualize and articulate clearly and succinctly.
• Excellent organizational skills organizational skills with the ability to create, plan and stay focused in a fast environment
• Local travel may be required.
• Strong sales and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication and public presentation skills.
• Excellent analytical organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and operate under minimal supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a closely related field.
• Three years of prior promotions/marketing experience preferred.

• Partner with Local Sales Managers for achieving growth and development of staff.
• Drive new promotions, campaigns, and opportunities specific to the market at both the local and national level.
• Coach and train Account Executives and Local Sales Managers on successful implementation of strategies.
• Regularly accompany Account Executives to top clients and prospects.
• Demonstrate successful strategies and tactics to maximize market opportunities.
• Responsible for the administration and continuous review of monthly reports tracking metrics of successes and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner, as needed, with the Director of Sales.
• Facilitate an excellent work environment.
• Foster a positive company image.
• Comply with all established policies and procedures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree with a major in Communications, Business, Marketing, or equivalent.
• Three years of cable broadcast, newspaper, or advertising media sales experience preferred.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, analytical, and communication skills.
• 50 - 80% local travel.
• Ability to motivate and drive business initiatives.
• Proficient with computer software and technology skills.
• Travel may be required.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to relate well with the general public and employees at all levels.
